  1. College of Medicine and Heath Sciences, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi

Course title:        Doctor of Medicine (MD)

Duration of the course: 04 years

 

Considered one of the prestigious medical universities in Abu Dhabi, the institute offers a four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme focusing on clinical experience and problem-based learning (PBL) oriented curriculum to train the students to become trained medical professionals and competent physicians.

Seats are allotted after considering a variety of factors, including MCAT scores developed and administered by AAMC.

Ranked 28th Best University in Asia (Webometrics 2021), the university maintains a student-faculty ratio of 8:1 with the female students constitute 60% of the student population. To ease the transition to MD programme, students are offered a one-year ‘Pre-Medicine Bridge Programme’.

Course Title:       Doctor of Medicine (MD)

The CHMS offers four-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme. The pre-requisite for the programme is successful completion of two year ‘Pre-Medical Programme’ offered by CMHS.

Ranked in the 301-350 bracket by ‘Times Higher Education’ ranking, UAEU is another top medical institution for higher education in UAE. CMHS has 15 departments and listed by WHO, GMC and ECFMG.

The CHMS programme for medicine sets high standards in recruitment and admission process for potential candidates. The selection process involves an online interview of candidates who have scored the qualifying marks on EmSAT exam conducted by Ministry of education (MOE), UAE.

  1. Mohammed Bin Rashid University College of Medicine (MBRU), Dubai

Course Title:       Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

The MBBs programme of MBRU is a six-year undergraduate programme based on an innovative curriculum, that is reactive to today’s needs, while focusing on the outcome to produce physicians who are scholars, leaders, communicators, and collaborators.

The programme is divided in to 03 phases. The first phase cover year 1 of the study followed by second phase comprising of year 2 and year 3. The third phase spreads over three years and involve clinical clerkship.

The admission process involves an admission test (CBT) and multiple mini interviews (MMI).

Course Title:       Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Duration of the course: 06 years

 

DMC follows a six-year MBBS programme comprising of three phases. The pre-clinical phase lasts two and half years where in each academic year is divided in to two semesters. Students who have successfully passed all subjects in the pre-clinical phase are transferred to the clinical phase of the course which is of two- and half-year duration.

During the clinical phase, students are guided to do clerkship under the supervision of teaching staff. Students who have successfully completed their clinical phase are allowed to enter 52 weeks long internship training.

Admission process involves scoring stipulated qualifying marks in EmSAT exam and an interview by Dubai Medical College. The undergraduate programme of DMC is accredited by most of the governing bodies like WHO, NMC, ECFMG, GMC, CAA, IMED, ACGME, etc.

  1. University of Sharjah (UOS) College of Medicine (COM), Sharjah

Course Title:       Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Duration of the course: 06 years

 

College of medicine University of Sharjah offers a six-year MBBS programme to be completed in three educational phases. Phase-I is the Foundation Year and Phase-II is the Pre-Clerkship phase, which consists of year 1-3 and is followed by a comprehensive examination.

Students who pass this examination will be promoted to Phase-III which consists of year 4 and 5. Since its inception, COM has adopted an innovative, student-centeredcompetency-based curriculum that used Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach with integration between Basic, Behavioural and Clinical sciences in all phases of the programme.

  1. Gulf Medical University (GMU), Ajman

Course Title:       Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Duration of the course: 05 years

 

GMU’s College of Medicine, in existence since 1998 has managed to not only impart quality medical education, but also created a network of healthcare services, a conducive research milieu and developed unique related avenues for professional development, policy, and leadership to meet the healthcare needs of the nation and the region.

The duration of programme is five years, and the curriculum is organized in an organ-system based sequence integrating bio-medical science, clinical sciences, social/behaviouralsciences, and patient-care skills.

Group based learning strategies like student-led seminars (SLS), problem-based learning (PBL), team- based learning (TBL), virtual patient learning (VPL), etc. are used with a smaller number of lectures. Early clinical exposure starting from the first year is the highlight of the programme.

Admission process involves, qualifying marks in EmSAT exam, TOEFL/IELTS scores, 75% plus marks in board exams. The course is divided in to three phases – Phase I comprising of ‘Introductory Medical Sciences’ (1st year), followed by ‘Pre-Clerkship Phase’ (year 2&3) and ‘Cerkship Phase’ spans over 4th and 5th years.

  1. RAK Medical & Health Sciences (RAKMHSU), Ras Al Khaimah

Course Title:       Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Duration of the course: 06 years

RAKMHSU offers a six-year MBBS programme, comprising of 02 years pre-clerkship (integrated applied basic sciences) courses, 03 years of clinical clerkship courses and 01-year internship.

The first two phases of the curriculum (05 years) have been designed to follow integrated and problem- based (PBL) approach to medical sciences. The programme is accredited by WHO, NMC, ECFMG, WEFE, FEIMER, IMED, etc.

The selection process involves securing qualifying marks in EmSAT, TOEFL/IELTS scores and 75% plus marks in board exams.
